Give us no Sunshine

Poems by Topic ::: Poems in Irish

They cry: "Give us no sunshine"
They crave the rain we wish away
They have no crops... and little water...
In the harsh dust the children play...

They cry: "Give us no sunshine"
As the heat scorches the very earth
And we the fools wish away the rain
That to our fertile land gives birth.
