He is your freind when you buy
The drink he has for sale
He'll get you a taxi when you cannot stand
When you meet, freindly he'll hail
You as a long time friend
For that indeed you are
As long as you spend money
On alcohol in his bar
You think that he is decent
You are a fool, that is what he does think
As you ring in your order
And he drops to your door your drink...
Your children deal with the aftermath
The puke, the tantrums the tears
The publican counts his pennies
And restocks his spirits and beers...
His kids go to college
Yours goes on the dole
He sees it as nature
Each creature to his role...
