Poetry animation - quotes of poems from Tomás Ó Cárthaigh

The reading above is in Irish and may contain pronounciation errors. A better video is to be shot at a future time. Above left is a potrait of Charles Stewart Parnell.

Anois ina choladh faoi thalamh,
Toisc gur shrois sé deireadh a shaol,
Mac básaithe na hÉireann,
Ní thagann focal anois as a bhéal.

Ach inseoimid donár bpáistí,
Faoi Phairneil, inseoimid an scéal
Faoin rí i ngach rud seachas ainm,
As náisiúin na Gaeil.

Now in slumbers beneath the earth
For now, finished his life,
The son, deceased, of Ireland
No words now come from his mouth

But we will tell our children
Of Parnell, the story we'll tell
The king in everything but name
Of the nation of the Gael.
