Ode to Delara Darabi

Poems by Topic | Topic Index | Cause for Pause

Just a girl, condemned
For a murder she denied
Though she admitted it
When questioned before she was tried
As you do, when your questioned
And tortured in Iran
It would be no different
If she were a man
In that land, as is noted
In all regimes throughout the years
Torture is commonlace,
Utilised as a tool without fears
Of a case collapsing where
To get a conviction it is used
It doesnt matter if you are innocent:
You are condemned when accused
Let God or Allah or Yahweh be the judge,
Peace be upon Him, by whatever name Him you know
Let us all be Prepared to be judged
When to account for ourselves we go...
