Celtic FC, like Hibernian of Edinburgh that inspired its creation, was started to help the poor Irish of Glasgow in the 1880's.
A certain Brother Walfrid, the first Celtic hero, started the club, which has grown from humble roots to be a global phenonem.
Its fan base streched all around the world, not just among the Irish and Scots diaspora, but among the nations where we have played and won a name for good sport.
